Children Who Beg on the Streets

Abuse upon children is so widely spread, it doesn"t even bother people any more. Mothers use their children for begging, they hold their babies in their arms, in the rain, in the snow, in sheer frost or in the heat. They use them as bate, and passers-by and drivers got used to the landscape. Maybe some people are bothered by the image of kids benumbed by hunger or cold, but nobody does anything any more. social services do not take action, arguing they have such problems with the children in their system any way. Everybody is numbed. Babies in neglect do not impress any more, exposed, hurt kids do not move us any longer. In any civilised state, authorities protect children who are abused by their birth parents and offer them the chance to a normal childhood, away from violence and exploitation. In a civilised state, children cannot be used as bate for begging, in front of the same shops, day by day. The state notices this and takes action. Authorities take action. Kids are protected. Not here. I think that the way in which children who are abused by exposure to begging are protected or not - turns into a barometer of the social services state , as well as of the degree of civilisation in a country. Which means we still have so much work to do.
